Post-Processing Essentials
Lesson 4 — Editing & Workflow
Organize: Import & Cull
Start with a single folder, flag your keepers, and use star ratings or color labels. Cull ruthlessly — a tighter selection leads to stronger edits and faster batching.
Correct: White Balance & Exposure
Fix exposure and white balance first. Use the histogram to protect highlights and shadows; global corrections are faster and avoid noise amplification.
Enhance: Tone & Color
Shape contrast with curves or midtone sliders, then add color selectively. For portraits, watch skin tones; for travel, emphasize mood with vibrance and split-toning.
